Hach Ultra Timeline

Hach Ultra History

1946

POLYMETRON is founded to design and market industrial pH and conductivity meters.

1960s

ANATEL's new “dynamic end-point detection” A-100 instrument measures ppb levels of TOC in pure water for applications in the semiconductor industry and nuclear power plants.

MET ONE and HIAC provide significant contributions to the development of the particle counting industry, including many innovations still in use today.

1962

HIAC introduces the first automatic particle counter based on the light extinction principle.

1967

POLYMETRON creates the first continuous industrial titrators for textile industry and the car industry’s phosphatizing baths.

1969

ORBISPHERE is founded to investigate new technologies for high precision instruments.

1978

ORBISPHERE is granted first patent for an electrochemical sensor design.

1980

POLYMETRON introduces its first microprocessor-based industrial transmitter.

1984

HYT founded in Sunnyvale, CA. HYT is the first to offer in situ particle monitoring (ISPM) for semiconductor process equipment.

1986

ANATEL introduces compact A-100P portable instrument.

1990

ORBISPHERE is granted first patent for a thermal conductivity sensor design.

1993

ANATEL introduces the A-1000 instrument, networking up to 8 sensors and controllers for application in the semiconductor and pharmaceutical industries.

1993

HYT acquired by Pacific Scientific Instruments.

1996

Pacific Scientific Instruments formed with addition of MET ONE.

1998

ANATEL introduces the Access 643 instrument for the pharmaceutical industry, and the A‑1000XP instrument for measuring ppb levels in ultra pure water systems.

2003

PSI acquired ARTI Inc., developer of particle counting systems for optical measurement of contamination in hydraulic oils, water and air, with classification to ISO standards. PSI offers built-in sensors for industrial and mobile hydraulics, to enable continuous monitoring of contamination in the medium. In this way, oil maintenance procedures can be initiated in time.

Hach Ultra Analytics is created from Anatel, ARTi, HIAC, HYT, Met One and Orbisphere brands.

2004

POLYMETRON joins Hach Ultra Analytics.

2005

Hach Ultra Analytics initiates the implementation of the new company branding – HACH ULTRA

2006

Hach Ultra launches 7 new products on the market:

  • ORBISPHERE 510 multi channel analyzer
  • ORBISPHERE 410 multi channel analyzer
  • HIAC 9705 liquid particle counting system
